Description
The determination of speeds and travel times on Delaware’s road network can provide valuable performance measures that can be used for transportation operations and planning. Availability of very large data sets for traffic data is increasing rapidly. A corresponding familiarity and approach to these large data sets needs to be advanced to fully take advantage of these resources and the investments that made them possible. Challenges arising from the large amount of information and steps to make it usable are discussed.
