The Respite Care Task Force was developed as part of the Delaware Family Support Initiative. The task force, comprised of parents and professionals, began working in the spring of 2002, and their efforts have culminated with this initial report. Because of the extraordinary need for respite care, the task force examined the availability of public and private respite services in Delaware, model programs throughout the nation, and pending national legislation on lifespan respite care. Recommendations based on this research were developed.en
