The Department of Anthropology advances innovative approaches to understand and address the challenges and opportunities of our time. The department trains global citizens to examine the diversity of human experience and consider social issues in critical and sensitive ways. Anthropology integrates the sciences and humanities to explore cross-cultural and global perspectives on what it means to be human in different times and places. Students of anthropology at the University of Delaware undertake original and applied research on a range of topics, from human biology to human rights. Department funding and scholarship offerings allow for students to complete independent research and field study around the world.
