Description
This project will protect the environmental, community, and aesthetic character of the southernmost tip of New Jersey’s Cape May Peninsula. Using the 2022 Cape May County Comprehensive Plan as a guide, this master plan will work in tandem with existing development efforts. Through public design interventions, this project will advance the comprehensive plan’s environmental, land-use, transportation, and planning goals. This project will address current and short-term future hazards to celebrate and honor Cape May’s history while promoting climate change awareness among residents and visitors. STRENGTHEN CAPE MAY’S ECOSYSTEMS Prioritize green infrastructure. Explore adaptive solutions. PRESERVE SENSE OF PLACE Draw inspiration from existing forms and colors. Be conscious of existing social assets. PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP Increase the presence of the natural environment. Create spaces to encourage exploration.
