DescriptionA lawyer, editor, and statesmen, Lodge served as editor of The North Atlantic Review from 1873 to 1876. In 1886 he was elected to the House of Representatives, and seven years later won a seat in the Senate where he served until his death. He is perhaps most remembered for his opposition to the League of Nations. Lodge also wrote the biographies of such figures as Alexander Hamilton, Daniel Webster, and George Washington.en_US
