AbstractInfrared (IR) imaging systems are used today for applications in fields ranging from medical to military use. In order to calibrate and test IR sensors for a specific task, infrared scene projectors (IRSPs) are used. In recent years a new type of IRSP technology called super-lattice light emitting diodes (SLEDs) has been developed. This new technology can project an IR scene at faster frame rates and allow for higher resolutions compared to the previous IRSP technology. The newest SLEDs IRSP made so far is the high definition infrared LED (HDILED) array. With many components in the SLEDs IRSP system, the close support electronics (CSE) is one of the key elements needed to drive these arrays. To get good results from these projectors, the hardware in the CSE must perform efficiently. This thesis will describe the roles, design characteristics and testing procedures for most of the hardware in the CSE. A deep understanding of these boards allows for new revisions and hardware to be created which will further improve this technology.en_US
