DescriptionThe project aims to design an environmental education center and an outdoor training site for the Delaware Master Naturalist Program. The landscape within the Fort DuPont site will primarily serve the courses and volunteering opportunities the Delaware Master Naturalists provide, while the vacant buildings will serve as indoor spaces for additional classrooms and lodging. Using the Delaware Naturalist Handbook as a guide, the project will create immersive outdoor learning spaces relating to the various environmental topics taught in the Master Naturalist program. With the inclusion of a number of different ecosystems throughout the site, the project will work to build a foundation for an increased awareness of Delaware’s ecological restoration.en_US
