Electric Vehicles designed with bi-directional AC chargers allow the possibility of a flow of energy between an electric grid and the traction battery. Any device must go through a procedural interconnection process to be grid integrated. ☐ The interconnection of so-called "behind the meter" inverters, or distributed energy resources, has dramatically increased since the introduction of IEEE standard1547 in 2003. After that, devices like photovoltaic systems could be designed and tested to meet a single national set of base requirements. Fundamental to the installation and operation of these grid-tied systems is the assumption that they are fixed in place. ☐ The interconnection of inverters on electric vehicles faces several major challenges. There are significantly different regulatory regimes, standards, and best practices in place for automobiles versus electrical installations. The configuration of an inverter is a location specific process, which is antithetical to the inter-state nature of a vehicle. This dissertation proposes a framework to solve the issues of interconnection of mobile distributed energy resources.en_US
