Abstract
This article examines María Luisa Bombal’s short stories: “El árbol,” “Las islas nuevas,” and “La historia de María Griselda” from an eco-feminist perspective. Using surrealist techniques, Bombal uncovers the unconscious cultural connection between the domination of woman and of nature. Her stylistic emphasis in the corporeal and the sensual shares with eco-feminism the belief in the acquisition of knowledge through the senses and in the creation of a new epistemology that could guide us towards the emergence of a non-hierarchical world.
