Abstract
Description
My mission is to heighten nature’s bond with Pequannock Township through enhanced town mobility and quality of life. A redesign to enhance a sector of Newark Pompton Turnpike to foster a new linkage between a new central hub and
Pequannock’s natural landscape and historical heritage. This strategic redesign aims to bolster connectivity throughout the town, reintegrate nature into the identity of Newark Pompton Turnpike, mitigate potential flooding issues, draw in attraction, and fortify safety measures.
Objectives:
Amplifying Flow
Locate and create more efficient circulation and connectivity by using existing site features and obstacles.
Strengthening Safety
Increasing safety measures across Pequannock by determining areas that show potential safety risk or lack of lighting to make Pequannock more walkable.
Reclaiming Nature
Introducing nature back into Pequannock Township by using native and existing plantings to relocate or plant in areas that lack green space.
Mitigate Flooding
Resolve or prevent flooding issues through use of existing natural space and interventions that help prevent flooding in Pequannock.
Elevating Life
Increasing the standard of living for Pequannock residents through placemaking.
