Enclosed with No. 837. Announces signing of trade agreement by Dr. Guido Schmidt, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and the German Ambassador, [Franz] von Papen; increases in exports from Austria to Germany include chiefly agricultural products, meat and dairy products, wood and timber, and products of iron and steel industry; improvement in accounting of Austro-German film business and payment for intellectual works; new agreement on tourist trade favorable to Austria; chief imports from Germany to be coal, coke, and industrial articles; agreement provides for committees from both countries charged with interpretation and application of terms of treaty and with adjusting goods payments.
