Abstract
Description
Learned a few weeks ago of the passing of good friend Owen Sypherd; friendship dates from 1903 and he was one of the few friends left of that period; perhaps Perkins knows of book on "Curses" Sypherd had written and submitted to Knopf, the publisher; the book, though scholarly, will probably not be commercially profitable and Knopf willing to publish it only if cost of publication is guaranteed; would be willing to join other friends in guaranteeing this cost; doesn't wish to intrude this matter on Perkins, but if Perkins can send the name of Sypherd's executor will write to him; if Perkins and Mrs. Perkins come to Mexico would be pleased to have them as guests at Cuernavaca; completely retired now, remaining only as Honorary Chairman of the Board of Mexican Light and Power Company; using leisure to do a lot of reading and dictating notes for which may eventually be two books; knows Sypherd will be missed; extends Christmas and New Years greetings.
