Most groups of both sides fear German and Italian influence and demands likely to be made by Germans and Italians as price for their aid; moderates know that in negotiations between Spaniards, presence of foreigners - especially Italians - will be an obstacle 60 percent of Spanish people willing to make whatever sacrifices necessary to pay off Germany and Italy and give them a formula which will permit them to leave Spain with dignity; they would then like to make arrangements with England, France, and U.S. to help with reconstruction. | en_US |
