AbstractThe purpose of this manuscript is to present the major concepts of modern physics in a readable, enjoyable form. It is written for non-professionals who have a curiosity for the physical world yet do not have an extensive mathematical background. Using images, analogies, and comprehensible language, popular topics of interest are covered, including the evolution of the universe, fundamental forces and particle interactions, the nature of space and time according to Special and General Relativity, the ideas of Quantum Mechanics, and the quest for knowledge of the unknown. This manuscript is original in its level of accessibility despite the complexity of its subject matter. It has been written with hopes of publication as a popular science book for the layman and/or a supplemental textbook for high school or introductory college courses.en_US
