Tells of negotiations with [Alfred] Knopf for publication of [Wilbur Owen] Sypherd's book on "Curses"; Knopf said he and his readers found the book interesting and scholarly and his company would like to publish it, but because of its likely limited sale, they could do so only if the publication costs were guaranteed; told Sypherd just before his death, that it might be possible for a number of his friends to join together in guaranteeing cost; received letter from H. Rodney Sharp expressing interest in book; he said he had spoken to Perkins about it; enclosing copy of reply to Sharp.
