| Description | Is glad to hear Pierson will be in Havana June 9th or 10th; has fixed date for signing of sugar loan contract for June 10; Cubans will make ceremony of the signing; reemphasizes importance of bringing people with him who can help in drafting of authorizing act for the $25,000,000 credit and the new loan contract as well as people who can advise on agricultural and public works projects; has advised Cuban Government to have tentative drafts ready when Pierson and his associates arrive so that there will be something concrete to work on; thinks it would be advisable to discuss with Cubans principles which are to govern selection of projects Bank would consider; agrees with Pierson that Havana waterworks project presents difficulties, but thinks it should be undertaken. | en_US |
