DescriptionPutsch plan discovered in offices of illegal Austrian Nazis; ostensibly a committee of seven to promote reconciliation between Austrian government camp and national interests, but the committee offices became secret headquarters of Nazi Party in Austria; highest quarters in Germany opposed to putsch for fear of offending Italy; German group headed by [Alfred] Rosenberg and Ribbentrop thought to be devising putsch plan of their own; new bill to change franchise law in Hungary introduced in Parliament; the bill would disfranchise many citizens while giving double votes to others; Rome conference in Budapest no success for Ciano; Schuschnigg and Kanya averting Italian plans for bringing Austria and Hungary into the Axis; King Zog's engagement to Countess Geraldine Apponyí of Hungary is announced.en_US
