AbstractInfrared (IR) detectors are becoming a widely used tool in modern research. IR source generators are needed to test and improve these IR detectors. In 2014, the CVORG team at the University of Delaware developed the first IR Scene Projector (IRSP) using IR light emitting diodes (IRLEDs). This IRSP was called the SLEDS system. IRLEDs are capable of faster framerates and better image quality than the previous generation of IRSP technology. New types of SLEDS projectors with higher resolutions were then created. The current goal of the SLEDS project is to produce a complete system that can replace the previous iteration of IRSP technology. ☐ One of the integral parts of the SLEDS system is the control interface. In order to effectively test and control the SLEDS technology, an advanced user interface was developed. This interface, called the Projector IRLED Native GUI (PING), was created to scale with the growth of SLEDS technology. As the capabilities of the projector system evolved, the control interface evolved with them. PING is composed of three main components: the HTML frontend, backend controller, and the backend service architecture. The three components work in conjunction to initialize, control, test, and analyze the SLEDS systems. PING also communicates with the other hardware components of the SLEDS system to maintain efficient system operation.
