Enclosed with No. 303. Discussed the discriminatory treatment received by Americans in German courts; mentioned the many attacks on American citizens in Germany and the fact that only one of the attackers had been brought to trial; for this offense he was fined 50 marks; contrasted this trial with that of the American seaman, Torsten Johnson, who was sentenced to six months in prison for a remark which he probably never made; Freisler seemed concerned and immediately drafted an order to all prosecuting attorneys in Prussia stating that any case involving an attack upon a foreigner should be brought to the attention of the head of the Ministry of Justice.en_US
