Gives news of some of their Jewish friends in Germany; Mrs. Clara Goldberger, who must leave her apartment and go into the slums of Alexanderplatz, is getting a visa for America; Fritz Kreisler, now in America, claimed to be half-Jew, but now proved to be full Jew, and his fortune and property in Germany are imperilled; Harriet, [Kreisler's wife] may be in some personal danger; Germans seized jewelry of Mrs. Lili Deutsch, sister of Otto Kahn, and are forcing her to leave country; Generaldirector Bie virtually ruined and held prisoner; will try to get him out to Holland; succeeded in getting Fritz Warburg out of concentration camp; Messersmith's friend, Dr. Schwedenberg, and wife came to office desperate; promised to get them out of country; Fritz Eichberg's brother, Siegfried, sent to Dachau; Dr. Alfred Berliner threatened with 20 years in concentration camp because old army gun, left by his nephew, was found in his castle; made personal appeal to Goering, who ordered charges dropped; Dr. Henniger must divorce his half-Jewish wife or go with her to ghetto; negotiating with Holland to admit some refugees who are waiting for visas.
