Original in Sypherd Papers. Returned to Mexico City July 1; spent last days of June in Toronto at meeting of Directors of Mexlight; Marion's [Mrs. Messersmith's] sister-in-law, Edith Mustard, and her daughter, and Virginia Layton's daughter returned with Messersmiths to Mexico; while in Toronto had trouble with stomach; probably should have delayed return, but couldn't leave details of baggage, customs, immigration to Marion traveling with her relations; problem may be colitis, but it may be return of ulcer; will wait a few days and if not better will go to Boston for treatment; appreciates Sypherd sending letter from [Alfred] Knopf; a nice letter; but not sure what he means in second part of letter; enjoyed seeing Sypherd; will write again shortly.en_US
