Enclosures: See No. 1799 & 1801. Encloses translation of articles from La Nación (Sept. 1) and La Prensa (Sept. 4) reporting statements made by Foreign Minister [Juan Atilia Bramuglia]; La Nación article same text as one sent to New York Times by [Frank L.] Kluckhohn; was informed there was editorial comment in Times which questioned good faith of Foreign Minister and Argentine Government; editorial created unhappy impression in Argentina and was most unconstructive; no basis for questioning good faith of Foreign Minister; it is well known in Argentina that he has always favored collaboration with U.S. and greater participation of Argentina in war; it was not Foreign Minister's intention to imply that Argentina had taken all proper action with regard to enemy property and aliens; he merely stated what steps had been taken.en_US
