Clayton also made outstanding contributions to meeting; knows Stettinius will give full report to President, but will write President anyway to give impressions of general atmosphere; U.S. has gone a long way in regaining lost ground and strengthening position in Western Hemisphere; much still to be done in preparing way for San Francisco meeting; has no wish to push self forward, but if services can be used in San Francisco, will be glad to serve in any way Stettinius and President see fit.
