Enclosed with No. 261. Trial was a travesty of justice; judge himself asked leading questions of Joost; only three witnesses were called, all of whom had obviously been coached; they mumbled their replies and were not cross-examined; prosecuting attorney made no effort to establish guilt; but recommended a sentence of one month; court retired to deliberate but returned after only seven minutes to pronounce sentence - a fine of 50 marks but no imprisonment.en_US
