In conversation with Count [Galeazzo] Ciano, asked him if in his recent conferences in Germany he had discussed question of Italian trade possibilities in Danubian States; German Ambassador, Ulrich von Hassell had informed it was important for Germany and Italy to avoid commercial competition in this region; Ciano confided that entire subject had been discussed and agreement arrived at looking to proper division of Danubian trade, including that with Austria.
