DescriptionOriginal in Sypherd Papers. Sypherd's letter of Feb. 24 forwarded to Buenos Aires, where, with Marion [Mrs. Messersmith], went on combined business and pleasure trip soon after Christmas; had 19 days on steamer going down, five delightful weeks there, and 17 days on ship returning to New York; on arrival in New York was sent to bed with severe attack of grippe; managed to spend a few days in Toronto and Washington before returning to Mexico on Apr. 6; with regard to personal papers, will have to give matter some thought; has considerable amount of interesting personal papers because of intimate concern with events in many countries during many years; has always intended to write three books on retirement from Foreign Service, but duties with Mexican Light and Power Company have been so time consuming, has been unable to start on books; accumulation of work waiting on return from Buenos Aires; will write later when there has been time to consider matter of papers.en_US
