Discusses case of Walter Orloff, American student at University of Greifswald who had been arrested and charged with treasonable activities; suggested to Schlegelberger that easiest solution would be to deport Orloff to U.S., but was told case had already been referred to central authorities at Leipzig and that the usual course of justice must be followed; mentioned the case of Philip Zuckerman, American citizen who had been badly beaten in Leipzig, and yet authorities had done nothing to apprehend the guilty parties; suggested American people would have low opinion of German justice.
