In 1995, the Division of Public Health began an effort to measure the number and spatial distribution of primary care physicians practicing in Delaware. The objective was to identify medically underserved areas and to understand any existing or developing trends that could impact the supply of primary care services. At the same time a smaller amount of information was captured for practitioners of other types of specialty care. This represents the first time this information has been collated and reported for physicians of all types.en_US
