Description
This is a living land acknowledgement developed in consultation with tribal leadership of what is now known as the Delaware Bay, including the Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware, the Nanticoke Indian Tribe, and the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation. We thank these leaders for their generosity. The acknowledgement was adopted alongside the Recommended Institutional Action Steps with a majority vote by UD’s Faculty Senate, Graduate Student Government, and Student Government Association in 2021. This document may be revised periodically to incorporate ongoing feedback and Indigenous relationship building.
