Optimistic about Company prospects; it's taken five years hard work to put it into position of continuing the constructive work it has done since 1903, for it was threatened by wave of nationalism; recalls old days and old friends in Newark; can understand Sypherd's not wishing to leave his comfortable home, but he could have every comfort here both at house in town and house in Cuernavaca; perhaps on next trip north with Marion [Mrs. Messersmith], probably in October, can use joint efforts to persuade Sypherd to return to Mexico with them.
