Sending to Dunn copy of Jan. 16 letter to Judge [Robert Walton] Moore; no doubt that Europe passed through major crisis during December and early January; calls attention to despatch no. 1022 with which was transmitted copy of memorandum which [Josef] Leopold, recognized head of Austrian Nazis, submitted to Chancellor; fact that memorandum mentions [Guido] Schmidt as acceptable does Schmidt no good; probable that there will be cabinet changes; thinks [Odo] Neustädter-Stürmer and [Eduard] Glaise-Horstenau will be let out, as Chancellor is tired of their troublemaking.
