I now take the presant opertunety of wrighten you A few lines to let you no that I am well at presant and I hope you are all the same I received your leter [the] yesterday when we was on the steam boat we left Jackson vill florida the eight and and landed in fernandina after to day turning around about that crocket river sent Johns we laied out on the ground to nights at fernan dina and left their on the morning of the thriteenth and at night we was in port royal harber the distent between is about one hundred and eighty miles their is grait prospects of the wa being over befor long.  I hear their has buin redgments discharged all redey.  we expecet to leave hear befor long to go
