In reply to your letter of the 31st [begin inserted text] recvd today [end inserted text] I have the honor to state that upon the night previous to the day (30th) on which the report was due our command moved- and this is our first permanent camp since then.  The report of the 6th has been forwarded, the one of the 30 please find enclosed.

In regard to the report of last month I will add that [the Surgeon is absent and the] previous I have just procured the nee blanks and for the same [illegible] previous monthly report is locked up with his private papers without which I cannot give you a correct statement

I will forward it at the earliest possible opportunity.
