Dear Sir

This will be handed you by Bearer Doct: Robert McKee of Middletown Del who is an applicant for the appointment of Asist. Surgeon for the 2 2 Del a Regiment

It affords me pleasure to recommend him for the position and I have no doubt that if you will give him the appointment he will be fully competent to discharge the duties necessarily pertaining to it.

I have known Doct McKee for many years and as he was a student of mine -  I feel anxious that he may have an opporutnity to distinguish himself in the Profession
